Its ultra-slim front profile conceals a deeper cabinet, which provides the volume needed for seismic levels of bass from dual 6" bass drivers. A single 6" bass/mid driver delivers naturally vibrant midrange sound, while a newly developed C-CAM® gold dome tweeter smoothly extends high frequency performance to a point way beyond the upper limit of the audible spectrum. Sheer control, open dynamics and wide bandwidth illuminate the sound of the Monitor Audio RX8: a very big speaker disguised as a very slender one.
The Monitor Audio RX8 floor standing speakers HiVe II reflex port has undergone further development for the Platinum Series and utilises a smoother more shallow rifled design which, helps to accelerate air flow and reduce turbulence. HiVe II technology has the ability to move air in and out much quicker than a conventional port, the result is fast powerful bass coupled with superior transient response
The Monitor Audio RX8 floor standing speakers dimpled surface of C-CAM drivers with the RST cone profile provides the conical shape of driver cones with another degree of resistance to mechanical bending forces. The dimples significantly increase cone rigidity and allow us to use thinner and therefore lighter C-CAM cones. The Monitor Audio Monitor Audio RX8 floor standing speakers dimpled RST pattern also displaces any standing waves that can propagate across the cone surface. C-CAM drivers with the RST cone profile provide speed and accuracy, while virtually eliminating distortion caused by cone-flex during operation.
Advanced software simulation has allowed Monitor Audio to optimise our C-CAM tweeter design, bringing higher sensitivity and a wider band width to reveal the finest high frequency detail. The Monitor Audio RX8 floor standing speakers C-CAM tweeter can extend up to 45 kHz (dependant on the range) and having also developed a sophisticated new chamber for the driver, it provides a more graduated damping for a smoother more accurate response.
