Good points:: Time remaining display which lets me know how long to walk my dog so that I don't have to listen to it. The dog loves it!
Bad points:: I bought this washing machine largely as a result of the excellent reviews both on this site and others, and because I already owned a Miele cat and dog cylinder vacuum cleaner which I like a lot. Unfortunately, and incredibly for everyone I've spoken to about it, I'm really disappointed with it. It is plumbed into a large farmhouse kitchen where I spend most of my day and one of my main priorities was for a quiet machine. In fact it is much noisier than the 15 year old AEG that I bought it to replace, and I cannot understand why everyone else talks about having to check that their's is still working because they can hardly hear it. What I have noticed is that if the drum is packed completely full, (or once when I washed a Goretex jacket in a special Nikwax product that was really sudsy) then the sound is muffled, but otherwise every time the clothes fall to the bottom as the drum turns it sounds something like a pair of trainers being washed- clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk. I am wondering whether everyone else who has reviewed it always washes a full load. My situation is that my older children have already flown the nest, but I wanted the flexibility of being able to wash things like curtains and duvets without having to make a trip to the launderette, in a machine that would sense smaller everyday loads and adjust water consumption etc. accordingly. In any case most machines seem to be bigger these days. I have spoken to the Miele technicians and to the people at the shop where I bought it, and both have offered to come out and look at it, but say I will have to pay unless the machine is faulty. Can anyone else throw any light on this? The machine stands on a bare concrete floor in front of a stone wall under a staircase which Miele say should be fine. Thanks for listening, Judi.

Good points:: Very quiet, lots of different cycles, washes brilliantly. The fact that you can use wash powder as well as liquid. the 10 year parts and labour guarantee.

Good points:: Very quiet, even on the spin cycle. Sometimes we don't even realise its on!
10 year warranty parts and labour.

Have to apply for the 10 year warranty.
