To help calm the rush before work and school in the morning, there’s Miele’s turbo function. It reduces the length of programmes by 30%, cutting the temperature of the wash and shortening the rinse cycle. If you’re really in a hurry, there’s a 38 minute quick wash – great in the morning and perfect if you need to clean plates between courses.
As you’d expect from Miele, there’s a programme for everything. ‘Pots and Pans’ is an intensive wash for baked-on grime. There’s a lighter option for sandwich plates and cereals bowls, and even a sensor wash for your delicate glasses.
Loading and unloading couldn’t be easier. Not only can the top basket be raised or lowered (even when it’s full), you can set it on a slant to suit the height of your dishes. If you’ve got large casserole dishes and baking trays, you’ll be pleased to know you can get items as wide as 35cm in the bottom basket – about 5cm wider than most dishwashers.
Your cutlery and utensils go in the drawer at the top of the dishwasher. Unlike traditional cutlery baskets, you can lay everything flat – this way they don’t stick together and end up back in the dishwasher a second time. It’s a real space saver too because it’s not taking up space in the main basket.
And if you’re hands are full with dirty pots, don’t worry about opening and closing the dishwasher door. It’s completely self balancing and has Miele’s SoftClose finish to avoid slamming. There’s a hidden switch under the handle as well, this locks the door and keeps little explorers out.
At 44dB, this model will sound more like your fridge freezer than your dishwasher – if you can hear it at all. And because it’s Miele, it’s designed to last for 20 years.
