Rob, Surrey Home PC user

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
The upgrade version was a dream to install over my previous Vista OS.
Good array of features.
Very user friendly.
Bad points:
The retail price, as fixed by Microsoft, is a little too high.
The product is for a single user only. Had the product have been for two licences, then the price would have been fine. A large percentage of families have two computers in the home and, with the present global financial squeeze, it is difficult to consider buying more than one such upgrade product. In fact, it must persuade many people to stick with their present operating system on each machine.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Easy set up
Bad points:
To be perfectly honest, there is not much difference to Vista, IMHO, it doesn't boot up any quicker, and doesn't seem to run any quicker.

Jonathan, Salisbury Online gaming user

Score 4.0/10
Good points:
Easy to set up, migration including itunes simple etc
Bad points:
Performance on an intel dual core 2.3 with 4gb RAM is awful. Continual automated updates are a pain. Gaming performance way down on same system with xp even after stopping unnecessary processes and indexing. Seriously thinking of going back to xp until DX11 becomes a common requirement. Should be a gaming profile integral to Windows on 1 click that kills everything not needed.

Confirmed purchaser Nothing

Score 6.0/10
Good points:
Good performance, lots of features and easy to use once set up.
Bad points:
Upgrade from XP is very complicated. Requires a clean install, but Win7 failed to pick up key from old version of XP and would not authenticate. Got there eventually, but wish I had bought the full version.
