Most helpful reviews

David, General home user

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Battery life 3+ hours
Lid design very nice
Size and weight good - quite robust on key entry - keyboard does not bounce giving erroneous entries (unlike my other laptop)
Like it!
Bad points:
Bundled software slows it down. Had to remove most of the 'try now and buy later' including virus stuff. My laptop which has less performance and no cluttering software starts much quicker.

Hard drive at 320GB is a bit small for our needs.

Paul, Software Developer

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Great processor, matte screen (may not apply to your purchase), nice exterior, good speakers and sound output for a laptop. Ubuntu runs very smoothly on this hardware.
Bad points:
Some sound issues (audible background noise with headphones) when using USB devices adjacent to the headphone jack or HDD activity.

Cursor keys are small and can be awkward, but laptop keyboards vary.

Neal, Warwick General home user

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
Cheap but doesnt feel cheap.
Quiet
Wife likes it.
Can upgrade to Win8 when its released for £15 see microsoft website.
Sound is good and louder than the Dell this replaces
Bad points:
About 2 weeks in the keyboard started to intermittently lag in all applications. I reinstalled the keyboard driver and over the last few days hasnt reocurred.
Lots of unwanted software installed which slowed the laptop down, removed the software and the laptop works as it should now though needs an SSD to really get it moving
Lots of updates required on win7.

Chris, Gloucestershire College, video editing.

Score 5.0/10
Good points:
It looks really smart. Multitouch touch pad is great for zoom, scroll etc. Brilliant value for money considering the spec.
Bad points:
Quite slow to load. After 2-3 hours of processor intensive video encoding the touchpad stopped working and typed text was delayed by about a second. Temporarily cured by a restart. I suspect this is a software issue but I cannot confirm this.
