Simon, Brentwood Average user

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Fits in cabinets normal recievers just don't
Bad points:
Can only assign the optical port to one source. If you have more than one optical source with an optical switch, it's a paid to switch configurations.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Good build quality. Produces great sounds and pictures and very easy to set up.
Bad points:
Although very thin I did not realise until I purchased it that the box needs quite a bit of room all round to stop it over heating.

William, Ripon Canny shopper

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
May only be rated at 50 watts in to 8 ohms but this is real watts not some half baked PMPO. Oh! and the icing on the cake, uses way less electric than my previous AV amp.
Bad points:
Honestly none that | can think of at the moment.

thierry, TOULOUSE (FRANCE) Music listener

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Very versatile product offering a wide range of possibilities to enjoy your music, photos and movies.
I appreciate much the internet connection which avoids superfluous transfer of files from my PC to my multmedia storage devices.
... and this is a Marantz: good performance, nice sound, nice look
Bad points:
Not really a bad point, but so many possiblities to connect all your devices make the setup not that easy ...
anyway the user guide is really well done.
No phono entry ...
And the price... but I'm from the French 'Scotland' ... I find a lot of things are too expensive ... (if scottish reputation is true of course ...)

Manufacturer's Description

It’s amazing but true. Some people (or more likely their partners) just don’t want powerful big boxes in their living room. So Marantz created a slim-line AV Receiver. But don’t let appearances deceive you, this super-slim model packs the same punch as its bigger brothers, delivering ear-cracking seven channel surround sound from its 7x 50W rms output.

It also boasts the same networking facilities for audio streaming, Internet radio, AirPlay from your iPhone, iPad or iPod, as well as incorporating an iPod-digital-compatible USB input and an M-DAX2 to make the very most of sound quality from compressed audio.
