Some customer reviews of Linksys N150 Wireless Router WPN824N

Most helpful reviews

David, Bishop's Stortford

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
Looks great, easy to use menu
Bad points:
Poor wireless, keeps dropping signal. To be fair I live in a flat and I can see maybe 15 other wireless networks on my pc and this could be part of the problem. Have gone back to using my old router for wireless coverage as this is rock solid. I am still using the Linksys for the modem and wired part of my network.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Cool looking unit, very easy setup, provides good coverage around the house within a minimum of 3 out of 5 bars including in the back garden (3 bedroom house) and provides wireless-N and WPA2 security
Bad points:
Since the router was installed week ago I've been disconnected a few times on online games, not sure if it's the game server or the router but it seems more often than normal

Walter, Thorne, Doncaster Old. Very old. Intelligent.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
My bungalow is quite small but it works in all corners. Including the loo, which is handy for e-books.
It looks very smart.
Initialisation is straight forward-even for an octogenarian.
Bad points:
I may have to smarten up the surroundings

Laurence,

Score 5.0/10
Good points:
Easy to set up.
Bad points:
Only buy this if you want your signal in the room that you set it up in. Once you try to use this from another room the signal is pathetic. I may have to take some of the blame here as it was described as a BASIC unit. I have had other Linksys products and they have been excellent.

Score 1.0/10
Good points:
Mnaula setup is straight forward and relatvely easy.
Bad points:
Automated disk setup is useless and does not work. Does not detect device. Wirelesss range is poor and not compatible with all devices (iPhone, Blackberry). Wireless drops out repeatedly. ADSL seems stable.

Manufacturer's Description

The basic setup routine for the Netgear RangeMax router is a simple and straightforward process that takes only a few minutes. A CD that ships with the unit includes a setup wizard that automatically loads when you insert the disc into your computer’s optical drive, then guides you through a short series of onscreen prompts. If you’re an advanced user, you can bypass the wizard and connect directly to the RangeMax’s browser-based configuration tool. A handy URL that is clearly listed on the printed setup guide points your computer’s browser directly to the tool.
