- Good points:
- Very solid product, a good replacement for my ageing Netgear router. Setup is quite simple, though I'd recommend ignoring the installation CD and use the web interface for configuration instead, to access the more advanced options.

- Good points:
- The hardware is great, but is sorely let down by the firmware and software (see bad points). It's fast, appears reliable so far, and offers gigabit wired ports (even the upstream/WAN port) and dual 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi simultaneously.
- Bad points:
- The Linksys/Cisco firmware is a total dog. Worse still is the "Cisco Connect" software. There are aspects of the router what cannot be managed on the web interface at all and have to be managed with the Cisco Connect software, which only runs on Windows. For example, it's not possible to disable the completely insecure "guest network" through the web interface. You have to use the Cisco Connect software. BUT, as soon as you make any configuration change to the router through the web interface, the software refuses to work any more. Also, during initial setup, the software asks you for a password. It then makes this the WPA2 password for BOTH the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz network AND ALSO the web interface. That's right, the same password for all three! Because that's really secure! So, I ditched the Linksys/Cisco firmware and installed the free, open-source DD-WRT. But this is not a job for the feint-hearted! And that's coming from someone with a degree in Computer Science and 15 years professional experience as a support engineer and as a software developer!
