Score 10.0/10
Good points:
I bought this recorder to replace my 6 year old LG DR7800 that had finally bitten the bullet and failed to read or write discs correctly, but I couldn't afford another £400 player so I looked for a bargain, and this LG seemed to fit the bill for a budget price of £129.

Recordings are very high in quality (I recommend using the AV2 decoder socket set to RGB for a much better picture via SCART). The quality of recorded DVDs is also brilliant with a solid picture and crisp audio playback form a 2 hour DVD.

One feature that is always welcomed is the ability to pause whilst recording, so you can skip out the adverts of whatever you are watching, easily giving you enough space on a single layer DVD-/+R in Standard Play mode to record five, maybe six half an hour shows per DVD. Record an entire series on two disks if you time it just right.

Overall I am very, very impressed with this recorder. It ticks all the boxes and I'll be keeping it for a long time.
Bad points:
The manual is a little perplexing. I can understand how a non-technical user may struggle with it as it is rather vague with some of the settings.

It also has no standby thru-put, meaning if you route a Sky or Virgin media box through the DVD recorder, then the recorder has to be switched on if you want to watch television. I find this a little annoying since my old VCR from the late 90s was able to route a Sky box through it when it was on standby. The sky box can also route through another device on standby, so I do find it odd how this recorder and many like it cannot, but this is a minor niggle.
