Good points:
Very easy straightforward setup sequence, fast processor, fast USB 3 ports. Graphics card handles photo processing exceptionally well. Small footprint and a very quiet operation, only a slight humming noise from the fans, which is great as it doesn't detract from watching movies or listening to music. Was able to connect 7 external self powered hard drives which all operate without problems. Keyboard is very good apart from it could be a little higher at the back so it has more slope on it, and the FN key is to the left of the Ctrl key, which is the opposite way to all my other keyboards. Mouse is good and responsive too.
Bad points:
Operating system is Windows 8.1, now this is better than Windows 8, but still not that user friendly. However I got over that by installing a freeware program called Classic Start, which provides a shell to run the machine emulating Windows XP screens. This program uses very little memory and effectively provides the traditional start screens without all the tiles.

Windows 8.1 is bundled with loads of software (apps) on the start screen and Lenovo added to those. Simply right click on each of them and uninstall them, or if you want access to them as you may use them, like Google maps, right click and deactivate them from running live and wasting memory.

The machine has a small footprint, so a traditional size PCI card will not fit, so I was unable to add extra USB 3 ports using a card I already had.

Windows 8.1 as it stands won't process RAW image files, you need to load the CODEC for them from your camera manufacturers software. I notice another reviewer had problems with this, but it is easy to get over by installing the latest versions of your camera software from the camera's website. Or install "Irfanview" which is another freeware program and very good for fast picture editing.

So while there are problems with the Operating system, they are easily got over with no extra cost. (Apart from PCI card)

Good points:
This pc has a very high spec for the price and the build quality seems excellent. I've now used it for over a month and have found the machine to be fast, quiet and reliable. It has regular spinning hard drive, but everything loads up in about 12 seconds. The (wired) keyboard is very nice. The computer comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1, which, despite the reviews, I really like. I know that the internet is full of people claiming to be leading IT professionals who can't work out how to use Windows 8.1 - and that many negative customer reviews of computers are really reviews of Windows 8.1 rather than the machine's it's installed on - but I'm not a leading IT professional and I found it extremely easy to adapt to. Honestly, it's fine. Windows 8.1 is not all that different to Windows 7 with a few extra features.
Bad points:
The "mini" tower size is convenient, but it means that the DVD drive is vertical, so you have to be a bit more careful when loading it. And there is less room inside the box so you wouldn't be able to install a second hard drive.
