we got this machine last june to replace z980, which went faulty 3 times and could not be repaired and it took kodak nearly 6 months to replace. several months ago the memory cards stopped being usable so we kept buying new ones. at first they would work for a month, buy a new one they would work for a few weeks, then we would buy another which would work for a number of days then this would be unusable. now even brand new cards straight from the packaging does not work, it states it is unusable but they work in other cameras.
kodaks answer is to charge us for a reconditioned machine as it is now outside warranty. WE HAVE MISSED OUT ON PHOTOS FOR CHRISTMAS, 3 CHILDRENS BIRTHDAYS AND SUMMER HOLIDAYS, ONLY BUY IF YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE ANY PICTURES! ***** DO NOT BUY**********

Slow to focus wants improving here! Red Light is on all the time there is times when you don't need it as it attracts to much attention in street shooting, people will think you are taking them! What's the use of having it take HD Video if you cannot watch it on TV! Wider strap eyelets needed also canot fit a wider neck replacement through the norrow ones.

Good points:
Quality of videos and Photos is superb, and there are no Problems with any of the modes. Also the battery life is fine, I used it pretty much non-stop for a whole day and it didn't wear down much.
I would fully recomend this camera without hesitation, although if you are Shooting in low light and do not wish to use the flash then I would immediately say purchase a Tripod.
Bad points:
The Focusing light is permanently on during filming (Easily fixed - Just cover it up - makes no difference to the quality of the photos); Camera must be kept as steady as a rock when shooting High-ISO in Low Lighting without the flash (Tripod recomended). The small Internal Memory means you can not use the 720p HD Video Option. The zoom is a tad to noisy if you are shooting in quiet areas, on somewhere like a street though it isn't noticeable.

Good points:
Fairly robust construction that feels positive in your hand especially the portrait hand hold position that gives an extra button to press in a natural place - nice touch that. Zoom facility not particularly quick but extremely sharp and easy to access.
I have been waiting for camera like this and it ticks all the boxes for me. It fulfills all my requirements and gives great photographs.
Excellent!!
Bad points:
There is only one RAW file.

Good points:
easy to use .Doesnt need special batteries (takes AA's).The picture quality and zoom at this price is incredible you would have to spend a lot more to get any noticible difference . If you want to go up from a compact but dont want to be carrying a bag full of gear then buy this.
