Guy, Pontefract Use Chromebook for business

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Upload speed is a fast as my broadband can cope with, which is generally about 7mb/s (fibre);
Perfect solution for backing up manually from my Chromebook
Bad points:
Can't get it to work with Windows 10, so have to physically upload files to backup rather than it all happen automatically, but that it how I do it with my Chromebook anyway, so no great hassle.

Robert, IT Professional

Score 3.0/10
Good points:
Software isn't bad, doesn't hog resources
Bad points:
Initial upload is impossibly slow. No doubt throttled deliberately but takes days and days which is a pain.

With a 2tb account you're split between 1tb for machine backups and 1tb briefcase space, why not just give a big lump and let us manage it?

It's still the most cost effective solution out there at the moment but it's hard to recommend over things like Dropbox and onedrive or crash plan because of the above.

Peter, London Journalist and photographer

Score 2.0/10
Good points:
I actually have the 4 Tb 5-year option. The interface is user friendly. Customer support by email has been rapid and very helpful (excellent). If the thing actually worked properly it would be great value for money = 4 Tb for 5 years at only 50% more than 1 Tb with Dropbox for 1 year.
Bad points:
It is appallingly slow. So slow I can't believe it - and I have a very fast BT fibre optic broadband that uploads at 15 Mb. It's so slow for the first backup it is effectively worthless to me. Also it can't be used to backup a Mac like Time machine does. I bought it to back up two Macs and a 500 Gb external hard drive with thousands of photos. This will probably take literally months, so I feel I have completely wasted my money. Don't buy this unless you have a virtually empty computer, in which case almost any free option would do. Dropbox is WAY more convenient, faster and SO easy to use, even if in theory more expensive.
