Good points:
HP dv3 is value for money as most small and lightweight laptops are either too expensive or are netbooks which are inadequate for my needs. The design is modern and sleek. I'm pleased with the top of the range specifications (Intel Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA Graphics, Altec Lansing speakers, fingerprint scan, intergrated webcam) and top softwares are also included. The keyboard is surprisingly normal-sized for a small laptop which makes typing easy. Media Smart and media control buttons are situated on upper panel of the keyboard which makes watching entertaiment more convenient.
Bad points:
Unfortunately, in dim lights, the black letters of the keyboard blends in with the bronze background of the keys which makes it harder to see the letters. This is not a problem if you're working in well-lit room. The fan and ventilation is situated on the left hand side and the lower left hand quadrant does get hot usually, but as the fan is always on, the temperature is not as high as my previous laptop. The whirring of the fan is smooth and soft, and does not bother me. Finally, the glossy finish catches oily fingerprints easily, which can be wiped away by the cloth supplied.
