Good points:
Quick to start up and fast laptop capable of many uses. For the price that it is it is a great choice for someone on a budget.
Bad points:
Antivirus only cover one month on this laptop I expected better than that.
As windows 8 has been out a while now when you first get the laptop the first couple of times it will need to update and configure a few times.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Performance is good, very quick. Pretty easy to use once you're used to Windows 8. Nice size and look about it, slim design.
Bad points:
'mouse' buttons are very stiff, which feels like a bad design choice as they are used so frequently. Windows 8 is a pain but that's not a problem with the laptop, just a shame that you have to have it.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Overall a good laptop for your daily use (work, studies, etc). It has lots of memory, huge hard drive and a decent processor. Screen quality and DTS sound are great features as well.
Bad points:
The OS is the horrible and nasty Windows 8 and you are stuck with it, once the system does not allow you to downgrade it to 7.
It is not a gaming laptop even though it comes with an amd a8 processor and hd7600g graphics card.

Manufacturer's Description

Enjoy the benefits of quad-core processing performance with the great-value HP Pavilion 15-n266sa 15.6” Laptop.

Windows 8

The Pavilion 15 comes pre-installed with the expressive Windows 8 operating system. Packed full of intuitive apps, it gives you the information that’s important to you as soon as you need it.

The Start screen is based around Live Tiles. These program icons display real time information from all your favourite apps including social networking, emails, news and sports directly on the home screen. You don’t even have to open the program to receive important info and notifications.

There are additional features too with the pre-installed Windows 8.1 update. These include the reintroduction of the Start button, new Live Tile sizes and adjustable four-way multi-tasking windows along with developments to the lock screen, search and more.

Excellent everyday performance

The Pavilion 15 is powered by an AMD A8-4555M APU. An APU features both a processor and graphics card in one compact unit and delivers fast, everyday computing with excellent graphics.

The A8-4555M features quad-core processing which, when combined with 8 GB of RAM, delivers effortless multitasking. So whether you’re working on multiple spreadsheets and documents or simply want to stream music while you browse, you can rely on the Pavilion 15.

Large capacity storage

File storage is provided by an impressive 1 TB hard drive that’s capable of storing a whole family’s worth of documents, music and software.

Backing up your data is fast and easy thanks to three USB ports, two of which are USB 3.0. With far faster transfer speeds than previous generations, USB 3.0 makes light work of copying even the biggest files to external disc and flash drives.

Unlike many new laptops, there’s also built-in DVD drive for backing up, easily installing software or watching movies on the move.

Get connected

Accessing your internet is simple with built-in WiFi connectivity also giving a handy cable-free connection to speakers, smartphones and a wealth of other peripherals and accessories.

You can also watch, play or work on a bigger screen in Full HD thanks to the HDMI port – perfect for watching films or playing games with friends.
