Score 5.0/10
Good points:
lightweight super quiet and decent battery life
Bad points:
Touchpad either unresponsive or ultra sensitive. The two finger page scroll is almost impossible to use, I am assuming it is the loathsome windows 8 that is the problem, Not great unless you have a tablet! It also tends to open other applications from the windows 8 welcome screen and because of that we have to run google from the desktop as otherwise it it very very frustrating! Suggest yo spend a bit more and get a decent touchpad.

Louise, General home user

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Once one has got used to it, it is very responsive. Windows 8 is fine, again, once one has adjusted to it.
Bad points:
Touch pad needed some getting used to; at one point I nearly went back to using a mouse.
I did go back to using the Windows 7 start up menu; I much prefer the Start up button to trying to fetch in the menu from the right hand side.

Phil, Colchester General home user

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
With Windows 8 it starts very quickly and is very good. A lot of posts are critical of Windows 8 but stick with it as once you get used to it, it is much better and more intuitive that previous windows systems. (I am not a geek just an old guy).
The rest of the laptop is fine typical HP build quality and good value for the money.
Bad points:
Power socket is on the right side of the laptop.
