Score 3.0/10
Good points:
I bought 2 of theses ovens to go side by side to replace my range cooker in our new kitchen. Aesthetically, they look fantastic. The pizza function produces fabulous crusty pizza's and the prooving function makes bread rise nicely.
Bad points:
They are covered in finger prints from pressing the button panel, they don't come with a grill pan, you are supposed to precariously balance things on the very wide grill (a sausage would fall through the gaps on it) and catch the fat on a baking tray, one rung down in the oven! They don't come with the telescopic rails as mentioned on the hotpoint website. The pyrolytic cleaning doesn't work well, you just end up with black burnt on marks. After I complained to Hotpoint they sent me a grill pan, but to use it is practically a challenge. The grill will only heat up if the oven door is shut, which means that you have to keep taking the grill pan handle off the grill pan so that you can push it inside the oven to shut the door so that the grill works. All in all, I weighed up the hotpoint vs neff equivalent and wish that I had paid slightly more money for the Neff pyrolytic oven instead.
