Good points:
1. Compact and fits comfortably in the hand.
2. Image quality is excellent. Sharp and crisp.
3. A nice variety of features.
4. Battery life is excellent and allows you to take many pictures between charges.
5. Excellent value for money.
Bad points:
1. For the first time digital camera user - they might find taking shots in dimly lit or action shot conditions a little bit tricky but, with a little time spent on it's features - there are solutions to getting the ideal shots.
2. The buttons are a little on the small side.

The supplied software will not load up on windows XP, It must be clashing with firewalls or security features. I've given up !!!!!

Perfect Pet Pictures

Pet Detection is great for those who love to capture snaps of their four-legged friends. Similar to Face Detection, Pet Detection can identify dogs’ and cats’ faces in a frame and optimises focus and exposure, giving you perfect portraits of your pets. There’s also an Auto Release function which automatically takes a photo as soon as your furry friend looks at the camera, ensuring you don’t miss any precious shots. *Up to 10 dog or cat faces at a time. Cannot detect pet faces in profile or both dogs and cats in the same scene.
Face Recognition

This clever camera features new technology that can recognise faces in the frame by name. All you have to do is take photos of up to eight of your favourite people and tell the camera who is who, and the Mum and the JZ510 will recognise that person from that point on and even optimises focus and exposure for your favourites. Face Recognition also lets you group and sort your photos by your registered faces a great time saver when you want to show someone that one photo.
Scene Detection Technology

The FinePix JZ510 can detect up to six commonly photographed scenes and optimises focus, exposure and white balance to suit the scene being shot.

Portrait

Recognises portraits by detecting the faces quickly in the frame and optimising focus, brightness and white balance.

Landscape

Scenic shots such as mountains and buildings are automatically recognised. Colours of the sky, forests, and flower fields are captured vividly and with depth.

Night

For low-light and night scenarios, the shutter speed and sensitivity are automatically adjusted, producing blur-free pictures with minimal noise.

Macro

Macro mode adjusts the focusing position so that every detail is captured on even the smallest of subjects accurately.

Night Portrait

When photographing people at night or in low light, SR AUTO optimises flash range, shutter speed, and exposure of the portraits, while capturing smooth and luminous backgrounds.

Backlit Portrait

Optimises brightness so that people’s faces are perfectly exposed background is not bleached out.

Perfect Portraits

Tracking Auto Focus
