The on-board GPS function creates geo tags which displays the latitude and longitude or place names on photo and video images, allowing immediate identification of where each of your photos was taken. If you’re away and stumble across a great little spot but can’t recall how to get back there, don’t worry – your Finepix F550 will lead you straight back there using GPS!
The Finepix F550 has the ability to identify 10 basic types of scene and then check whether or not a person is present and how much light is available. EXR AUTO is able to distinguish exactly what type of scene you are shooting and optimize exposure, white balance, focus, colour and tonality accordingly.
Motion Panorama 360 Mode cleverly produces stunning 360° panorama shots, effortlessly and automatically recording a series of shots by pressing the shutter button and sweep the camera across the scene.
Not only does the FinePix F550 record videos in stunning Full HD (1080p) at 30 frames per second, it also boasts stereo sound for high quality audio and outputs the files in H.264 (MOV) format. Favoured by broadcasters and Blu-Ray manufacturers, H.264 produces file sizes that are smaller and more manageable than the conventional AVI format. What’s more, they’re compatible with a wide range of websites and applications, which makes it easier for users to share content on sites including YouTube.
A series of recognition modes will also aide you in taking great photos, the first time around. Tracking Auto Focus tracks moving subjects so that even if they move, they’re in-focus and detailed. Dog/Cat Detection will wait patiently until your pet strikes a pose, looking at the screen. Face Recognition will remember subjects which have been photographed before, tagging them, optimising their personal settings and allowing you to search by person, rather than browsing the collection one by one.
