Good points:
Simple to use. Compact size.
Bad points:
Only bad point is there was no instruction manual and although I eventually figured out each function it would have been helpful to have some sort of booklet.

Digital Cameras Buyers' Guide

Manufacturer's Description

This 14 megapixel resolution camera represents brilliant value having HD recording and 3x zoom lens plus 3.0" LCD Screen, Scene Recognition, Image Stabilisation and 3-frame Panorama.

High ISO and Image Stabilisation
When the light fades and you don’t want to use flash, you need a camera that will pick up more detail without blurring. The Finepix AV180 does this with ease thanks to its ISO 3200 sensitivity at 3 megapixels and ISO 1600 at full resolution. This allows faster shutter speeds to be used, reducing blur. To add to this, the AV180 has digital image stabilisation which further reduces the effects of camera shake.

High Definition Widescreen Recording
This camera can record 720p HD movies with sound plus full 16:9 HD still photos to either download to your computer or view on a HD TV using the optional HDP-L1 HD player.

Scene Recognition Auto
The SR Auto mode automatically recognisies what type of photo you are taking. It then sets the appropriate focus, exposure and white balance. Alternatively you can select what type of scene you are photographing from one of 13 scene modes.

Picture Search
Got lots of photos on your card and don’t know where your favourites are? Not to worry. The Finepix AV180 lets you search for pictures by scene type, face type, date ar data type. Navigation has never been easier.

Panorama Mode
In this mode you can take up to three consecutive shots and the AV180 will stitch them together into a seamless, dramatic panorama.

Natural Light Mode
Makes the most of the camera’s high ISO sensitivity to produce natural looking images in low lighting that are not washed-out by too much flash.

AA Batteries
This camera uses readily available AA batteries so you can travel all over without having to worry about mains charging points or specialist replacement batteries.
