Bernard, Northallerton

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Able to scan slides, photos, and documents to a decent standard
Bad points:
Not superfast if you have hundreds of items you wish to scan in one go. Also, this is the 2nd V500 that I've had. The first gave up the ghost after just over 3 years of use - I don't know if that's an unusually short life expectancy or not, but I had scanned literally thousands of items with it so I felt I'd had my money's worth.

Confirmed purchase: 26 Oct 2013

Tim, Bristol

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
Copes with all my film scanning requirements, from 110 and 120 negs to 35mm slides. Colour rendition and options in pro mode work well and are sometimes superior to Nikon Coolscan results.
Bad points:
Negative holders are awkward to clip / unclip. Templates do not provide a guide for 3rd party film holders ( e.g. 110) and results from negs in holders can be fuzzy compared with laying film straight onto glass (Newton's rings are a problem with that unless placed emulsion side down, requiring horizontal transformation after scanning).
