Confirmed purchaser IT Professional

Score 1.0/10
Good points:
None
Bad points:
1. The plug worked intermittently and so was considered unfit for purpose.
2. The cable was also considered unfit for purpose due to malaligned pins after the first use, which lasted under 5 minutes.
3. The docking station was not recognised by the latest version of windows and the Cd that came with it appeared to be a users manual, and no drivers were found.
4. The product was returned to the shop where it was puchased as it was not fit for purpose.
5. I cannot say any more about the product as the cabling was unserviceable.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
1. Fast data transfer.
2. Easy setup
3. Compatible with USB 2 & 3 although not at USB 3 Speeds
Bad points:
1. USB connection on back of device is very loose causing it to disconnect with the slightest movement.
2. SATA connection is a little flimsy and has tilted a little so that the HDD leans forward rather than sits straight up. Don't know if this will break in the future.

Bought this one and power supply was dead out of the box. Got another one and the power supply blew within a week.
Bought a third party power supply and it's been working ever since without problems.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Firstly, I bought this docking station not for PC data back-up but to connect to my Dreambox DM 8000 HD PVR as the Dreambox doesn't come with a built-in hard drive (???) to record programs.
As I didn't want to take the unit apart to fit an internal drive I was able to connect this dock to the DM 8000 as both units have eSATA ports and the dock comes with a (short) eSATA cable. I am using an Hitachi 160gb drive in the dock and after doing a software update on the DM, it recognised the HDD straight away. The drive needs to be Initialised and a partition installed, the Linux based Dreambox guides you through this easy process. I chose to use the EXT3 File System and it works perfectly. I can now record programs directly onto the hard disk to view later thanks to this docking station.
My unit came with an eSATA cable, a USB to Mini USB cable, power lead and power unit, a small instruction leaflet and a mini CD-Rom.
Apart from the power cable being a little short, it all works as it should with no problems.
Bad points:
As has already been said, the cable from the mains plug to the actual power unit is very short.

Not really a bad point but it's worth noting that the unit is only compatible with SATA type hard drives and not IDE drives.
