Confirmed purchaser Often on the move

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Small, light, QUIET, will fit on the smallest table at the pub. Integrated WiFi, Bluetooth, camera, great touchpad, and lots of USB. Very quick startup in XP from cold start, quite impressive. I recommend not to ruin the benefits of the thinness and lightness of the Mini with that bulbuous and heavy 8-cell extended life battery. Just get another 4-cell battery or two. They are really tiny, like carrying a granola bar, and will fit in a coat pocket or netbook case and won't change the dimensions of the Mini when installed. With one of these regular batteries with you, you will have 6-7 hours of netbook life in total. Carry two and you're good for 10 hours.
Bad points:
Can be a bit slow running full XP, but really, it's just not that big a deal considering that everything works so well, from streaming radio over WiFi directly to Bluetooth; connecting to other computers by Remote Desktop; to streaming video. Probably not for gamers but everything else is fine; plus that start-up speed is so impressive, it compensates for any slowness later on here and there.. Keyboard keys are a bit smaller than you may be used to with full size laptops, but the keyboard feels very solid, with good key travel and no sponginess at all, very well designed, just need to get used to 2 or 3 familiar keys being in different places than you're used to, plus all of the Function keys are shifted two rows down, and there doesn't seem to be an F11 and F12 key. Laptop gets a little warm, since it has no fan, but in winter and fall this is a Good Point. Just DO NOT close the Mini and put it in a bag without first putting it in Stand-by mode or Turning Off. It will get extremely hot, since it vents through the keyboard.

Confirmed purchaser Often on the move

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
I'm often on the move, so I'm very happy with my Dell Mini 9. Size, battery life and performance fits my needs.
With some efforts you are able to install Linux or even Mac OS X :-)
And there is one detail I never want to miss again: The SIM-Card-Slot and the integrated HSDPA Modem...
Bad points:
Before upgrading the bios you should be sure to have an original dell battery. Otherwise you will have to downgrade again since the battery won't be charged.
