Good points:
This a very nice looking computer which works very well. Due to its size it is of course a little heavy but I did not buy it for its portability so this has caused me no problems whatsoever. The 17" screen is however a great feature for my photographs and DVDs. The computer is very quick to load and does everything I ask of it with ease. I have no interest in computer gaming so I am unable to comment on this aspect of the 1737.
Bad points:
The keyboard is certainly not the best Dell have ever produced. The 0 key came off and had to be glued back on again and the entire keyboard lacks stability in the centre so it dips slightly as you are typing in that area. The touch sensitive volume controls are also very difficult to use and the volume tends to go from zero to maximum with no middle ground and it takes ages to get the volume right. The 'solid' keyboard on my Dell Inspiron 1525 is head and shoulders above this one.
Anyway the bottom line is I would buy the 1737 again despite its slightly flimsy keyboard.

Good points:
I have it in the sexy Plum Colour. - Keyboard is very quiet; keys are light to the touch. - Love the full number pad. And Mouse Control Pad easy to use.

I love the 17 inch Glossy screen size and clarity. - Much faster than I had expected, especially for a laptop. –
Surprisingly impressed with Windows Vista and its security features. - The built-in webcam is quite handy. -

The sound is superb especially when you insert your own multimedia speaker system. – CD slot is easy just by inserting Disc in and away you go. –

The Dell 1737 Does not over-heat it has an in-built cooling fan system, unlike other Laptops have done which I have purchased in the past. – I can leave this on days on end and still it will not overheat.-

The battery life is ok yes it will turn off after having not been on charger for a while but it will save your work, and it will not lose your work.

Just close the lid & pack up and go the Laptop itself is light to carry around. I have the uncanny ability to lock up just about anything, but the Dell Studio 1737 has been great so far.
Super-fast shipping

If you are looking for a 17'' inch Laptop with Glossy Screen, Superb Graphics, Fast 4GB Memory with a big Hard Drive Space then this is for you.
Bad points:
I cannot fault this Dell 1737 Laptop system at all
There could have been more USB Ports but mustn’t grumble. But other than that everything works fine. For a Refurbished system it’s as good as new. Excellent 10 Stars **********
The only downfall is you can only buy this Laptop Re-conditioned as Dell has discontinued them.

Good points:
Excellent display and performance. Generally good design. Liked the slot loading DVD drive. A good desktop replacement.
Bad points:
Prefer to have ports (USB, LAN etc.) to the rear of the laptop. The touch activated media controls respond poorly, are very difficult to see and are nonsensically placed above the keyboard. Why Dell didn't put hardware media keys at the base of the laptop I don't know.
