Good points:
Again an easy swap from my old card and having what appears to be native 24bit gives a much better quality. Also the fact that the card was on offer made it more appealing

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
- The card has a fantastic design, with a red glow that fills the bottom half of your case
- I've personally combined these with the Logitech X-530's and they work superbly in 5.1
- The setup time takes literally minutes
- The accompanied drivers have a extensive amount of options for the card. Which can be tweaked and changed in more ways you can think of.

Darren, Leicester Geek

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Seems to be a lot of complaints over this card lacking features & overpriced compared to it's capabilites.

I do find that compared with my old X-fi fatal1ty, the software does lack the audio creation & entertainment modes

The Recon3d software suite is far superior when comparing it to to the X-fi's 'Game' mode. It's a lot more streamlined, but with added functionality of scout mode, crystal voice etc.

Gaming sounds pretty much the same as your old X-fi, but the scout mode definately adds an advantage of being able to hear your enemies moving around, especially in buildings when you can hear them moving about upstairs. I can even pin point where to throw grenades based on the audio surround.

I've got my front panel connectors plugged directly into the card which is a first for me as well.
Bad points:
The price is rather off putting if you have an X-Fi already, making it an unworthy upgrade.

The enemies have no footstep/movement sounds in BF3 because it sucks, so scout mode is of little use here unfortunately.

Vernon, Treforest Recording Engineer & Gamer

Score 4.0/10
Good points:
Good quality sound, compliant with Vista/7's new audio standards. Comes with beam-forming microphone. Does not impede ATX case design (doors, etc.).Nice range of game and playback-enriching features.
Bad points:
No older standards, such as ASIO. I/O has been compromised over design. Headphone to speaker switching breaks sound on any Unreal Engine 3 game. Functionality of the driver is geared towards simplification and gimmickry, at the cost of audio features previous high-end X-Fi cards sold themselves on. Disappointing for a Creative sound card at this price point, the flagship being a pure digital audio card unsuitable for raw analogue setups.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Excellent card, works brilliantly and can hear alot more than my standard Realtek built in card.
Bad points:
For some unknown reason the lights point down... so towards my graphics cards. Would be handy to have the bright red light pointing up so it irradiates the whole case.
