Andrew, Gaming

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Comfy piece of ass.

This headset is easy use. Great software. The sound is immense.
The build and flexibility of this product is outstanding.

Highly recommend! If the price went down to 60 per headset then they would fly off the shelves. But 7.1 and comfort... why not spend the extra?
Bad points:
Battery didn't like me wacking it on charge when it didn't need much charging (50% left) as I wanted it fully charged for splinter cell online (A game where if sounded suddenly disconnected... you would rage)

Manufacturer's Description

Over the years Corsair has moved from being a memory company towards a much more diverse entity, targeted at gamers. Memory, SSDs, power supplies, chassis’, keyboards, mouses, cooling and sure, audio products as well. On the audio front we have reviewed the SP2500 speakers for example which was their first attempt in the audio market, with good success.

Long story short, most of the gear that Corsair produces these days seems to be an excellent fit for you, the PC gamer. And in that mindset they decided to start a line of gaming headsets as well — which of course have been and are a success as well. The HS1, 1100 and 1500 headsets we have already reviewed but recently Corsair added a new model, 100% wireless. The new model name is the Vengeance 2000 Wireless 7.1 Gaming Headset which proclaims to be a 7.1 surround wireless gaming headset that brings in realistic multi-channel-like gaming audio while a battery charge can bring you the comfort of 10 hours of usage. Next to that, the drivers used in combination with a software suite produce audio at a level that makes the V2000 breathtaking to listen to.

The Vengeance 2000 works through a USB transmitter powered surround-sound ogre headset and comes with nice big 50mm drivers and revised USB drivers that include surround sound, capable of offering 16-bit/48 KHz playback.

Being tied to USB means you’ll be tied to a chip that is supported, Corsair uses a C-Media chip (likely CM6302) which has support for Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP. We expect Windows 8 support as well. The product will carry a 2 year warranty ensuring that the Vengeance will love you long time.

Anyway, let’s read onwards and find out how the new wireless Corsair Vengeance headset works and plays.
