Hamish,

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Very well put together case build quality is excellent. plenty of cooling options comes with a 140mm front and 120mm rear these are just corsairs standard fans yet they are very quiet. the only real noise is the massive air flow through the mesh fan noise even at high rpm is pretty much non existant.
Bad points:
Drive caddies are a little fragile with 3.5 drives and instructions are a little on the vague side if its a first build. Any one who has built a few will love this case.

Good points:
Space and looks. Its got plenty of it. internal supplied pre-cabling is well done too.
Bad points:
Side panels are not the greatest and are the ones where you to slide them along the axis of the case to them get them out. My ones were very stiff and not easy to get off. When doing cable management they were also difficult to refit.
The screw-less design on the drive bays was good although one of the plastic handles on one snapped off with ease which was a little annoying. these removable bays do have screw holes for 2.5 in drives (SSD or HD) but cleared were an afterthought. They worked ok but the plastic is quite flexible.
Not the easiest case to open up generally, but then how many times are you expecting to open it up??? :-)
1 final minor point - the supplied instructions were a bit poor, so for first time builders I would find an easier case to use.

Bad points:
Power supply mounting (bottom of case) is a long way from the CPU, so you may need to extend the cables.

Guy,

Good points:
Build quality is really good. Enough space for my massive graphics card and all of my hard drives. Cable routing easy and makes my system look nice. Recommend
Bad points:
One of the clips on the slide out bays broke when touched. A little brittle but nothing to cry about.

Manufacturer's Description

The Corsair 300R Carbide Series case is a compact expression of the Corsair philosophy: great systems begin with a great case. Open the easy-access side panel to find a builder-friendly design with three tool-free optical drive bays and four tool-free hard drive bays with integrated 2.5” SSD compatibility. There’s room for extra-long graphics cards, and the matte black interior really shows off your gear. Finish off your build with a cable routing system that keeps wires and cables out of sight and out of the airflow path for a clean, uncluttered look.

The corsair 300R case keeps your hardware cool with amazing airflow, including a 140mm front intake fan and a 120mm rear exhaust fan. There’s room to add five additional fans, including dual side-panel fan locations that can deliver cool air directly to your graphics cards. And, the dust filters are removable for easy maintenance. Features like these make the Corsair Carbide Series 300R case the foundation of your next great system.
