Score 8.0/10
Good points:
I got this for animation reference - high speed and/or high def footage, and it's great for that. Does good closeups of insects, water etc. It's easy to switch between taking a photo, taking high speed footage and taking hd or standard res footage, and playing back so you don't have to mentally switch modes all the time. Can be computer controlled using software and firmware upgrade downloaded from casio website (have not tried this yet).
Bad points:
Big camera. Lacks easy manual controls, so if you want to shoot something that is not preset or works with the automatic settings then it may take a long time to set up. It's a large camera, maybe without proper manual control it ought to be smaller. I got this model as opposed to the other exilim models because I wanted to get the best quality images possible, maybe the smaller F20 would have been better suited to my needs - but I'm very happy with the F1 nevertheless.
