Good points:
Great camera does all it says and really good for close ups without having to change lenses. Better on a tripod for full zoom to keep it steady.
Bad points:
Makes a slight noise when zooming in but not a real problem.

In Summary:
A great bridge camera for those who are bored or tired of lugging their D-SLR bag to every event, and a decent evolution for those looking to step up from compacts as it has a vast array of user control functions whilst retaining a fully auto mode. Brilliant zoom range coupled with excellent image stabilisation means you can achieve hand held shots of a decent quality even at long zoom end. Clear menus, and for anyone used to Canon's SLR's the function buttons are very similar in layout. On the whole, a very convenient, competent and class leading hybrid camera which supplements my DSLR, but doesn't quite achieve highly enough to replace it.

In Detail:
Amazing 35x zoom range from a fairly compact hybrid model (compact compared to a DSLR with a hyper-zoom!). Battery life is good for well over 150 shots with flash. Flip screen monitor provides user with much more flexibility than fixed screen cameras. Fully manual (P/A/S/M) control settings in addition to fully auto and scene modes, but limited aperture control for those used to an SLR system. External flash hot-shoe for owners of Canon SLR's.
Over 4300 images from a 16Gb SDHC card (nearly 85 minutes of continuous video footage in HD720P mode). Microphones for video set away from ultrasonic zoom and focussing motors so less motor buzz in video footage (which is good quality incidentally). For those concerned about 1080P (or lack of it), after storing and uploading footage you'll be glad of 720P resolution.
Photos can be printed out up to A2, or cropped in and still retain good detail. Custom button allows user to set that button to any feature they like, very useful for regularly used options as it saves scanning through reams of menus.
Bad points:
Images from any of these hyper-zooms lack bite, contrast and colour depth when used in anything other than brightly lit conditions. If you print directly from camera to printer your images may appear slightly dark or lack colour / contrast for photos taken with long focal lengths or low light conditions. Post processing of images with software such as Google Picasa / Adobe Elements is essential to get the best from your photos. If you do not have the above I suggest setting camera to vivid colour setting although this may incur some extra digital noise in dark shots. No in box manual, only on line of via CD-ROM; that's just tight at this price point!

Images show signs of fringe distortion between light and shade at most focal lengths, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a camera of this kind. Images can lack colour and contrast, so ensure to post process your images and avoid where possible ISO setting of greater than 800.
Would have preferred a solid state on-off switch rather than push button, buttons are slightly to light to the touch and can be mistakenly pressed when taking photos if you have big hands. Digital zoom is pretty much a waste of time if you want proper results, so turn it off! Can't believe they don't offer RAW instead of compressed JPEG's in a crossover camera of this level, poor omission. Strap is too thin, replaced it with a neoprene one and camera feels lighter round your neck. Accessories are expensive, and lens hood / filter rings / batteries.
