Good points:
The print quality is stunning, even on ordinary photo paper. It is also very quiet during printing, even in ordinary mode. Only played with it a little so far but the software bundledbwith it is also excellent.
Bad points:
In my opinion none. The set-up process in lengthy, but it tells you on screen how long each section takes and is very straight-forward.

Good points:
print quality is just amazing , build quality is superb & easy to use/set up.
Bad points:
well this printer is just so expensive to run , i had read reviews which stated so and thought ok generally inkjet printers are not inexpensive to run but this machine is just unaffordable to run. Forget about any of the running costs you see on internet reviews regarding the canon pro 1 , this machine just devours ink , every time you switch it on you can almost see the ink levels go down . You will spend your time and money replacing the very expensive ink tanks . Yes 36ml to begin with in each tank & when the software tells you that the ink is depleted and refuses to print anymore , you swap it out only to see that there is actually between 1/4 to 1/3 of the ink left in the tank ( i know this because i opened one of the said empties and forced the ink out into a graduated cylinder to see 10ml left so thats 36ml minus 10ml ) . I have this printer 18months now & am researching third party inks , I really dont mind now if the third party inks destroy the printer , i would prefer that they work but the alternative is just to recycle the machine itself .
I am a working professional photographer , i would say that i am a low volume printer so maybe if you are printing every day and the machine is never turned off and you can charge extremely well for you prints ( as you should considering print quality & costs ) this might be a viable option . I just wish canon had marketed this printer at those clients and not the low volume guys like me . You will still be looking at the ink waste considering whats left in the cartridge when the software refuses to let you print anymore & if you had to leave it powered on 24/7 , Well my environmental footprint is large enough without this .
So if running costs are not an issue for you and you are not environmentally sensitive then this is the most wonderful product for you .

Good points:
After having a Canon IPF 5000 for 8 years I found the need for large prints in decline so it was time for a change. Although not small in size this printer is a quality designed product , easy to install and produces beautiful prints. Easier to operate then the complicated IPF 5000 , especially in the choice of paper and almost quiet whilst printing. So Far the ink usage is very good indeed , after installation the levels dropped a little but that is to be expected. As a pro photographer I am very pleased with the print quality it is superb and I would highly recommend this printer to pro's and amateur photographers.
Bad points:
studio -pro plug in in photoshop takes a long time to load, maybe it needs re-installing. The software supplied is more aimed for the amateur user, that with the marketing of this printer for the pro market is a bit disappointing.

Good points:
Print quality is better than I have ever seen. When they say it produces saleable prints. they were not misleading anyone.
It feels very robust.
Not at all disappointed with my purchase.
Bad points:
Weight and size, you will need a buddy to help you move it around. at almost 30 kilos it is no joke. It is also very large. It almost demands a table for itself.
I gave a 9 out of 10 for print speed but realistically if you are considering purchasing a beast like this the print speed is not your major issue, nor it is particularly slow for its kind.
Keep in mind it needs 12, yes 12 ink cartridges.
