The EOS 10D is a high performance digital SLR. It offers the exceptional build quality, image definition and functionality of a high-end analogue EOS SLR, with the benefits of digital photography
6.3 million pixels
At the heart of the EOS 10D is the newly developed CMOS sensor with approximately 6.3 million effective pixels for superb image quality. This sensor is supported by Canon’s unique high power digital imaging core (DIGIC) processor. Thanks to the speed of the DIGIC processor, Canon has extended the number of full resolution images to nine, at a rate of three frames per second. In addition to improved speed, DIGIC also helps produce more accurate colour rendition and reduce image noise.
High quality images
The EOS 10D is able to save images simultaneously in both RAW and JPEG formats. With the option of six JPEG file sizes, you have control over how large the accompanying JPEG file needs to be.
New developments in Canon’s noise control technology allow the EOS 10D to offer a wider set of ISO equivalents. The range covers 100 to 1600, enabling users to get high quality images across a wide range of shooting conditions. Photographers working in poor light can take advantage of an option to extend the range to ISO 3200.
Improved metering system
The metering system on the EOS 10D has improved exposure consistency and stability. It uses the newest metering algorithm available and a 35-zone evaluative metering system linked to all seven focus points.
Colour and light versatility
Canon has included the Adobe RGB colour space standard into the EOS 10D for a greater selection of recordable colours and greater image flexibility.
The EOS 10D shares the same white balance controls as Canon’s professional digital EOS models. In addition to the customer white balance, the EOS 10D provides users with the option to select Kelvin colour temperature settings to suit almost any lighting situation.
Printing on the move
The EOS 10D is the first digital SLR camera to feature direct printing. By linking the camera to any of Canon’s compatible bubble jet or CP printers with a USB cable, photographers are able to see prints immediately—without the need to connect to a computer. Controls within the camera’s own menu system allow users to choose print quality, size and image cropping.
