Dave, Coventry Silver surfer

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
An over-abundance of software! Whataver you want to do, there must be something there to achieve it.
Good quality scans, achieving in one scanner what I have previously needed two devices to tackle (a Minolta Dimage slide scanner and an Umax Astra flat-bed scanner).
Bad points:
An over-abundance of software! Can be confusing working out the best approach.
Despite the high resolution, slides still are not as sharp and detailed as they would be if projected directly onto a screen. However they are more than adequate for viewing on screen or creating large prints.

Nick, London

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Easy to use and setup - does what I expected it to do. I haven't had a chance to evaluate all the software yet - only used the default pieces which do a good job with reasonable quality negatives.
Bad points:
Not bad and I know I am scanning at very high resolution, etc but it would be great if it could be a bit faster.

would also be nice if there was some manual override for when scanning frames that are irregular in their spacing, default setting chops these up!
