Ken, Stirling IT Professional

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Once the initial setup is complete its easy to manage. Quiet enough when in use however you may hear the drives themselves depending on make/model etc. Nice neat size for a 4 disk unit.
Bad points:
A pain to setup. Once the disks are added the unit will more than likely come up in emergency mode. You have to upgrade the firmware before you can use the unit.
The update is available from the Buffalo website and is a complete package with an installer. Once the upgrade is complete you can then carry out the initial configuration.

Michael, Heavy media user

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Easy to use and setup. Lots of room for expansion.
Bad points:
The instructions aren't that clear for the more in depth items like cloud storage. Initial setup and use is easy but beyond that you will need to have a good sit down and read through to make full use of the device. I only have basic knowledge but managed quite easily, it just took a bit of time and tinkering is all.
