Good points:
If you want to build a every day PC, simple, this is the board. It has everything for a basic setup & a bit more. I've added to this a core i3-3225 Ivy bridge cpu, Samsung 128 SSD & Samsung 4GB x 2 1600Mbps Green RAM & WIN8 Pro 64bit. now everything is instant! Incredibly fast & stable.
Bad points:
I did had to return the board because the onboard video output stop working, it was confirmed faulty and I was sent a new one, no problems since then.

Andrew, Hassocks good Asus Knowledge

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
A very neat board easy to configure and get going, very impressive looking BIOS, well made as always by Asus
Bad points:
No PIC slot, it was a bit of a shock when I tried to plug my Terratec PCI music card in to the board and now find I can't, should have check more thoroughly.
Also the placement for the 6 SATA connectors makes it difficult to connect the cables in a tower style case
And the Intel GPU is not up to much, but this is not a fault of the mother board

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
works, good spec
Bad points:
Got a couple of annoyances though it may be my fault.

- BIOS's fan control does not reduce fan speed below 50% despite 20C CPU temperature. Control through SpeedFan does not seem possible.

- Power button behaves weirdly; I have to hold it for 4 seconds to come out of hibernation.

- Reset button takes about 10 seconds between freezing the system and starting to reboot.

As with any BIOS, the options are badly explained, including in the manual.

Kevin, London Hardware engineer.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Superb feature set, low power consumption, small outline, great BIOS and compatible with so much hardware.
Bad points:
Had to make up leads for front panel LEDs and switches. The adapter block provided was helpful but without a few old leads to cannibalize and a deft hand with the multimeter and soldering iron I expect that newbies will struggle with this, especially those with an aversion to reading the manual.

Manufacturer's Description

This motherboard supports the Intel 3rd/2nd generation processors in the LGA1155 package, with iGPU, memory and PCI Express controllers integrated to support onboard graphics output with dedicated chipsets, 2-channel (4 DIMM) DDR3 memory and 16 PCI Express 3.0/2.0 lanes. This provides great graphics performance. Intel 3rd/2nd generation processors are among the most powerful and energy efficient CPUs in the world. The Intel H77 Express chipset is a single-chipset design to support socket 1155 Intel 3rd/2nd generation processors. It provides improved performance by utilizing serial point-to-point links, allowing increased bandwidth and stability. Additionally, H77 chipset provides 4 USB 3.0 ports for 10 times faster data retrieval speed. Moreover, Intel H77 Express chipset can also enable iGPU function, letting users enjoy the latest Intel integrated graphic performance. Intel Smart Response technology boosts overall system performance. It uses an installed fast SSD (min 18.6 GB available capacity required) as a cache for frequently accessed data. Key benefits include reduced load and wait times, and lower power consumption through the elimination of unnecessary hard drive spin. This technology combines SSD performance with hard drive capacity, operating up to 6X faster than a hard drive-only system. Your computer can receive web updates with fresh content for selected applications, even when the system is in sleep mode. This means less time waiting for applications to update and sync with the cloud, leading to a more efficient computing experience. Allows your computer to quickly resume from a low-power hibernate state in seconds. Saving your system memory to the designated SSD, it provides your computer a faster wake-up response time, while still keeping the energy use low. LucidLogix Virtu MVP featuring HyperFormance technology boosts your discrete graphics card up to 60% beyond its original performance through the test of 3DMark Vantage. Designed for Intel processor graphics and Windows 7 PCs, it perfectly combines the performance of discrete graphics cards with fast computing iGPU. Also with the newly designed Virtual Sync, users can enjoy a smoother gaming experience by eliminating tearing artifacts. LucidLogix Virtu MVP could also dynamically assign tasks to the best available graphics resource, based on power, performance and system load. This allows users to fully utilize 3x faster video conversion with Intel Quick Sync Video technology while retaining high-end 3D rendering and gaming performance, provided by both NVIDIA and AMD graphic cards. When the discrete graphics card is not required, power consumption goes automatically down to near zero, making the system more environmentally-friendly. For users searching for perfection, LucidLogix Virtu MVP provides great graphical performance and the best flexibility and efficiency.
