Maciej,

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Easy setup. Very few adjustments needed. After reading previous comments I knew about the RAM issues. I got one of the ASUS manual list and I had no problems really.
Bad points:
I am experiencing some minor sound glitches, but I haven't figured out what is to blame yet.
The list of recommended RAM is limited, but I have found what I needed.

Good points:
umm, it looks nice before you close the case and never look at it again
Bad points:
First one didn't boot every time, got it replaced

onboard sound does not have acoustic echo cancellation. so if you record anything, in game voices and teamspeak voice is echoed. I had to start using a headset.

Good points:
Fantastic build quality and excellent performance. UEFI BIOS is simply brilliant with an amazing amount of options and tweakable settings.
Bad points:
Not a single thing. Well, would have preferred an electric blue colour scheme, but ROG has always been red!

Andrew, Petersfield I'm a computer junkie.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Very nice aesthetics, good for over-clocking and very good compatibility with other components.
Bad points:
The ROG red and black colour theme can be a killer on you're colour scheme, wish there was a way to change the colour of the LED's that illuminate the lower heat-sync, and backlit the SFX portion of the board.

Manufacturer's Description

Maximus VII Hero features the very latest Intel® Ethernet for faster, smoother gaming — always. Intel’s LAN has the serious double advantage of reducing CPU overhead and offering exceptionally high TCP and UDP throughput. This significantly reduces the processor’s workload, so there’s more power for your game and your gameplay!

ROG has reinvented the LAN port. Advanced signal-coupling technology and premium surface-mounted capacitors improve throughput, while surge-protected and electrostatically-guarded components (ESD Guards) protect your motherboard from lightning strikes and static electricity!

Exclusive GameFirst III has been upgraded with even more gamer-helping features and an interface that’s even more intuitive! GameFirst III helps you to assign top priority to game packets and allocate more bandwidth to the game, ensuring the best online gaming experience.

Choose from a preset mode to suit what you’re doing – Optimization, Game, Media Streaming or File Sharing. You can manage bandwidth down to the level of individual applications, with five priority levels (highest, higher, normal, lower, lowest) and even the ability to block specific traffic. GameFirst III even has a built-in Network Monitor tool, so you can supervise your network traffic and test your connection speed to check that you’re getting the bandwidth you pay for!
