Good points:
GREAT PC, very good upgrade from previous XP. HD is nice and runs nice and smooth and also surprising cool considering it has no case fan! the optical drive is a good feature, (someone mentioned B.R. didnt work but you just had to install the given program). the built in wifi adapter is a nice touch and the APU is better than i though.
Bad points:
A few small points. the APU although better than expected, lacks a little for gaming, may need a GPU. but is still very good and multi tasking, multimedia and web surfing. WINDOWS 8.1 is not worth the upgrade. i hated the idea of windows 8 but got used to it and then updated to 8.1 and hated it again. also software bundle could be better, would have expected Office to be standard, and the programs that come with it arent that useful.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
For the price you pay, you really get good performance and speed.

Video Editing: I have been using Sony Vegas Pro and the rendering time is pretty much the same as the clips length. What I mean is a 4 minute clip takes about 4 minutes to render (output).

Gaming: Very quick and I haven't felt any lag so thus far.

Windows 8.1: I have upgraded the OS after I installed Ubuntu 14.04 (which did not work support the graphics care or wireless network adapted.) It does take some getting used to but after a week or so you'll be ok with it.

Wireless mouse and keyboard is superb, slick and of quality build.
Bad points:
Can be a little loud but you can't complain taking into consideration the price and performance.

No button to manually eject the Blu-ray drive (I haven't found it)

Windows 8 is a little...ugly, but that has nothing to do with Asus

Good points:
Price for spec is good. Easy to set up and update to 8.1.
Bad points:
External wifi adapter. Partitions set up in strange sizes. No windows disk so can only be restored with factory settings preinstalled on the hard drive rescue partition.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Fast, value for money, wireless keyboard and mouse, WiFi dongle delivered as well. 8.1 is OK to use!
Bad points:
Not as quiet as I would have expected but acceptable. Worth while upgrading to Windows 8.1 but took a long time to catch up with 8.0 latest patches prior to the upgrade. ASUS should consider pre installing 8.1 as standard.

Good points:
A compact desktop PC with a reasonably fast AMD processor, 8Gb of memory and a 2Tb hard drive, and with a Blueray drive as well.

Sound quality from the onboard chip is acceptable through my Bose Companion 3 speakers, though purists may want to consider adding a sound card.

Fast booting and excellent HD graphics onboard the processor chip, so you probably won't need a dedicated graphics card for everyday use.

It came with Windows 8 but the free upgrade to 8.1 was relatively painless, if rather time-consuming (you have to install all the updates to 8 before Windows lets you upgrade to 8.1)

It also came with an Asus wireless mouse and keyboard - not particularly high quality, but perfectly usable if you don't already have them or if you need a backup.

It's also fairly quiet and doesn't throw out a lot of heat, so it's probably reasonably cheap to run.

It comes with two USB ports on the back panel, but unfortunately there isn't one on the front. But the front USB ports do provide high-power charging, so you iDevices should charge at high speed.
Bad points:
The very large capacity hard drive has been partitioned with the recovery partition located after the C: drive where Windows has been installed, which means you can't change the size of the fairly small Windows partition. Whilst it's considered good practice to put your data into another partition, Windows 8.1 doesn't actually make this very easy, and it's something you have to do manually - a real bind and I'm not sure how the Windows installation and then update would react to this.

The Blueray drive isn't a recorder, so there's no way of recording CDs or DVDs for backups or copying.
