Some customer reviews of Asus GeForce GTX Titan 6GB

Most helpful reviews

Michael, South Godstone Nothing.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
When compatibility isn't an issue this card performs flawlessly.
Overall the performance is fantastic.
Bad points:
Heat becomes an issue in 3x SLI with the reference cooler.

Card (regardless of driver) refuses to throttle fan speeds before deciding to throttle due to heat (Card throttles at 80C before exasperating the fan) There are a few BIOS on the internet from 3rd parties that fix the issue, nothing official. Very disappointing for an expensive video card.

Palash,

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
This card can handle absolutely any game that is thrown upon it with ease. Upgraded from 2 GTX 580 sli cards and even though there is not much of an increase in the average fps, you will notice that the minimum fps is much higher and consistent amongst any game you choose to play. The card is also smaller than the gtx 580 cards I was previously using.
Bad points:
The price is obscenely high especially if you considider that you could get 2 gtx 680 for around the same price and get a slightly higher frame rate. Would recommend this card only if you intend to get another one in the future to run in sli or you are lacking in space in your pc case.

With the Asus card in particular, the gpu boost software bundled with the card does not allow you to set the maximum temperature which is the heart of GPU boost 2 introduced with the titan cards. Max temperature depends on what kind of power percentage you set but there is no option to specify for instance that the card will not go above 75 degrees c or whatever max temperature you are willing to tolerate. You can bypass this problem or lack of feature as I shall put it by installing evga's version of this software evga precision 4.0 from their website. This software gives you access to all the features of this card and works like a charm with the asus card.

Ali, London

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Fantastic graphics card. Highest single GPU benchmarks and performance around. Plays all current games on maxed out settings.
Self-clocks to 992 MHz automatically as long as within temperature target. Use EVGA Precision X software to overclock this to a beastly 1202 MHz on air cooling with 106% power target and 90C temp target.
Avoid EVGA Titan cards as their BIOS seems to have issues with throttling. Stick to ASUS cards which appear to be much better.
Bad points:
Would have liked some more exclusive ASUS goodies in the box like you get with some of their other products.
Only 1 power cable adapter included instead of 2 and it isn't even all-black nor sleeved. Not a big deal as PSU will have the required cables.
GPU Tweak software included with the card is vastly inferior to EVGA's Precision X offering. (These apps all work for any brand card.)

GTX 780 gives similar performance for a lot cheaper.
