Good points:
This is an amazingly powerful computer in a very slim, great looking and extremely well built laptop case.

Excellent connections with three USB and one Firewire800 connectors and I've got an esata adapter that I use in the Expresscard34 slot as well. That card slot will also take adapters for USB3 and also accepts Sony's SxS cards (used by some professional video cameras). I sometimes use the Mini Displayport to attach a second screen and that doubles up as a Thunderbolt port. There isn't very much available that connects by Thunderbolt yet (but there are some interesting things on the way), but this is my third Apple and they are so well built that I expect it to last a good few years so I'm glad I have that option and won't have to upgrade in a couple of years as that comes in.

It runs Apple's OSX, which I like, but if you want (or need) Microsoft Windows it'll run that as well. I'm thinking of doing that in oder to use some particular software, but I keep finding that there's actually very good OSX software for pretty much everthing I want to do, so I'm putting that off for the moment (and you have to buy Windows separately).

I've given it top marks for value for money which may seem odd for something so expensive, but you really do get something quite special for your cash. To find something really equivalent in the PC world, the choice is very limited (basically a couple of top of the range HPs and Dells) and they're up in the same price range. It's not my only computer, but it easily could be.
Bad points:
Being the 17 inch screen version it's a bit too big to actually use on the move and although it's reasonably light it won't fit in every laptop bag. The USB ports are all together on the left so if you use a mouse with your right hand the cable on Apple's wired mighty mouse is a bit too short (so you need an extension cable or go wireless) and they're close together so some USB memory sticks (but not all) block access to the next port when they're plugged in.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Looks good, works from the box. Great screen and has some built in software. The difference in price between the Apple shop means that I can (and have for £35) upgraded the memory from 4Gb to 8Gb. I reckon I saved over £6-700 on the Apple shop equivalent. I'm now looking at a bigger and faster Hard drive as it's so easy to update. Apple even show you how to do it complete with pictures!
If I'm not using applications that are constantly using the disk or heavy graphics the battery will last for 6-7 hours, I've never had a PC last anywhere near that long!
Bad points:
It is quite heavy, but then its a big machine.
If you are used to a PC it will take a little while to get used to the new operating system, but it is great to use once you are familiar with it.
