Some customer reviews of Adobe 8.0 Photoshop & Premier Elements

Most helpful reviews

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Version 8 of photoshop Elements and Premier Elements provides all the tools that an amateur enthusiast needs for the organising and editing of digital pictures and video. The most significant difference between Elements and the professional Photoshop version relates to colour management. Namely, Elements uses the RBG system whereas the full Photoshop version uses CMYB.
Bad points:
There are really no bad points regarding the two programs. However it is worth mentioning that they are both very sophisticated tools and as such their use demands a fairly steep learning curve. It is not surprising that there are college courses specialising in teaching the fundamentals of these programs.

The name of this product leads you to believe that it is a version of photoshop. This product is infact nothing more than you can chieve through the functions on your camera therefore is in my opinion a wast of money.

Good points:
Photoshop is excellent when it works, but crashes occasionally.
Bad points:
Photoshop is excellent when it works, but crashes occasionally.
Premiere is awful. It crashes all the time and runs so slowly to be almost unuseable. It took 9 full days non-stop to import and analyse 2 hours of hd video, the preview window runs too slowly for you to check your work, meaning that you have to render your work to review your edits, rendering a 10 minute clip is best left overnight, and maybe also the next night if you find it has crashed again. The adobe forums are full of people who have similar issues, yet the consumer reviews are very good....
PS, I have a PC with a spec above the recommended spec for the product.
