Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Does what it says on the tin. No screaming from the fan under intensive processing, like my previous machine. A good, solid workmanlike computer.
I rated the software bundle low because I wasn't interested in most of it and have since removed it.
No system disc is provided, but you can easily burn your own from Acer's hidden partition. Reinstalling the OS works perfectly from the boot-up procedure - I went back to XP because of an application problem, then went back to W7 later, with no trouble.
Bad points:
Not so much a bad point, but I wasn't enthusiastic about the positioning of the front USB ports. They are at the top of the cabinet, so if you have a device such as portable disc drive you need either a long enough cable to reach the desk beside the computer (and some portable drives seem to deliberately use a short cable, presumably to prevent signal degradation), or you have to perch the drive on top of the cabinet. But that's really only a minor niggle.
The machine also has only one analogue monitor port (I misunderstood the DVI specifications) so it caused problems with the three VGA monitors I was expecting it to drive. But that was my misunderstanding.
