Confirmed purchase: 13 May 2010

Martin, Swindon Business user

Score 6.0/10
Good points:
Managed to dual boot it with linux fedora with no problems. Windows 7 runs well. I use it mainly as a development machine and it runs net beans and eclipse with no problems. Network connectivity is great and I've had no issues with the integrated wireless on both windows 7 and fedora. Plays DVD's fine.
Bad points:
My biggest gripe and the reason my company won't be using Acer again is that after buying the laptop, I received a call asking if I wanted to pay extra to ensure that the laptop works correctly, have all the software installed and to ensure that the display had no dead pixels. After refusing I then receive a laptop with dead pixels with all the unwanted software that I then had to uninstall.
Secondary to this is that the keyboard and mouse pad are fairly poor. I have experienced missed key strokes on different applications, windows and linux, so I can only assume it is down to the keyboard hardware.
