Score 7.0/10
Good points:
(I have never owned a computer before though I have being using one at work for almost 25 years.)
The first thing that struck me was the quality of the picture. But I don't use it for viewing very often. I have spent most of the time on it browsing the Web or shopping. I have downloaded some computer programmes, including an audio book, and saved a picture onto it from my digital camera and it all went smoothly and was quite quick about it.
I haven't needed to use the battery much yet so I can't rate its performance.
Bad points:
The keyboard - for me the separate number keys on the left are superfluous, I can stretch to the numbers at the top of the keyboard if. Removing them completely wd allow you to open out the keyboard for more comfortable access. The keys are a bit close together and there's no spring in them when you type. I would have preferred the keyboard and the touch pad further away from the screen so I could sit in a more comfortable position when using it - it would be even better if the keyboard could be raised slightly towards the back. The mouse pad is quite unresponsive at times, especially on the Web. So much so that I'm considering buying a separate mouse. It's hard to judge how much pressure at left and right to put on the 'click' bar at the bottom of the pad.
