Kenwood Apps CJ99SSA Combi , microwave

+ A good looking microwave oven, works well as an oven and a microwave. Decent capacity for a little oven.

- It would be better if it had a proper oven shelf arrangement, and food needs to be cooked at a higher temperature and for longer than stated in recipes. But if this is taken into account the cooking is good.

+ Easy to use and clean. It's reasonably quiet. Easy to get the hang of, particularly the microwave features.

- The oven feature has the lowest temperature of 150C and my old combi started much lower so I was able to use it for warming plates. Also I pre-cook my mincemeat (Delia Smith's recipe) and it is so handy doing it in the combi-oven because it is a smaller oven which runs efficiently, leaving my big oven to do family meals.

+ This is a large capacity microwave and it does all that you would expect it to, very roomy inside, cooking is quick and efficient, really happy with the convection oven - the control of temperature and time is great for precise cooking and the results are excellent. The stainless steel interior is easy enough to clean, the controls are very simple after reading the instruction book. It has a clear digital display and is quite stylish to look at. I am really happy with this product and for the features and the size it was very cheap.

- A larger grill rack and defrosting rack might have made sense, they seem a little small considering the size of the microwave, but this is only a very minor gripe!
If you have a very small kitchen with not a lot of bench space, think carefully about buying this microwave as it takes up a lot more room than a conventional or small sized microwave.
Even after all is said and done, this is a great buy and I'm really happy with the product, I do quite a bit cooking and if you wanted to, you could actually do away with a cooker all together - you wouldn't be losing any functionality at all!

+ All stanless steel unlike the ones that are plastic coated inside & peel off after a short while also very versatile no matter what you are cooking.

+ i particularly like the few buttons needed operate. sleek lines and i am hoping for reliable use using the various programmes. tried all methods and very quick to obtain temperature on convection .

- cany think of any at the moment other than the electronic buzz on the first micro sent. all ok now

- Very large - Back sticks out about 3 inches so if it's for a small space - maybe get another model

oven deep and narrow most of my trays dont fit. even after preheating oven, food still takes longer to cook than recommended time.

+ I bought this microwave because of the value for money in this size.
I love its size and it works well.

- The controls are a little difficult to work out,you have to set the heat every time bofore you can set the time which means i just use the quick heat button instead.
One more niggling complaint i have is about the child lock,it says in the instructions that it can be put on and off by pushing the button for 3 seconds but it is more like 10 seconds!

+ Very simple to use, only a couple of button pushes and dial turns to get the microwave going. Haven't tried all the functions yet.

- Power cable is very short, doesn't reach as far as my old Kenwood microwave, have lost a bit of workspace because of it. Pay all that money would expect a decent length of cable.

+ Good metal finish, easy to clean, looks good, quite silent, quite big capacity

+ Looks very stylish and modern. Even the digital display looks good when in use.
Has many features and is pretty intuitive to use.
Price was very good (Dixons) when compared with the rest of the market.
Solidly built by Kenwood, as would be expected.
Powerful 900w microwave, with grill and convection oven.

- Perhaps not as easy to operate as more basic Microwaves (But then it does have many more features/modes)
Maybe a bit on the large size (depth wise) due to the fan at the back.
