On a positive, the different size hotplate tops makes control easy, the overall look is pleasing. The double oven is very useful.
-
On a negative – the oven thermostat settings are very hard to judge between 5-8 which are the most common settings, (because the numbers are so close together) the fold down lid has a flimsy feel, the main oven door catch is stiff distorting the door when opening, the grill goes out for no apparent reason from time to time.

Didn't realise it needed to have an electrical socket nearby to power ignition and clock. (My old oven had a battery). The leads looks unsightly as it has to come up and along the worktop.I also find the detachable handle for the grill pan awkward to use. The grill doesn't have very clear variable settings. It seems to work on either a maximum setting and finding a lower setting means almost switching it off. Lastly the inside of the glass lid steams up quite badly when the lower oven is on.

Lower than old oven so sits slightly below counter level - have to be careful that flame does not catch things. Also black enamel on the grids (that stop pans resting direct on the gas burners) is already flaking off.

Grill pan handle falls off, causing burnt toast.

Although this cooker is a smaller width at 50cm it has lots of space inside. Having a double oven means that cooking for a family of four is no problem at all. We've cooked roasts, casseroles and cakes in the main oven and they've all come out really nicely. Actually haven't tried the small oven yet but think it will be good for quick things when you want to save on gas or if you're doing a bigger dinner for a large group of people. Also, I love having the separate grill. Our old cooker had the grill integrated into the main oven and it was a right pain faffing around with putting extra bits of metal in to stop the knobs melting each time we wanted to use it. Also all of the component parts of the cooker, i.e. grill pan, oven shelves, are small enough to take out and wash in the sink. The bigger ovens tend to have huge oven shelves that are just too cumbersome for a washing up bowl. With regard to the hob part of the cooker, we were worried about having less space because we were going from a 60cm to a 50cm but to be honest we haven't really noticed any difference there. The hob on this cooker seems to be deeper than our last one so we haven't really lost any cooking space.
The cooker also looks really good. It's a bit of a range style cooker and I've had friends admiring it! I'm really pleased I bought this cooker and would have no hesitation recommending it for an average size family.

Interior of oven offers very limited space and my larger tins will not fit in . This is probably due to the fact that each shelf has a baffle fitted which restricts the depth of the oven making it impossible to cook large quantities. Its difficult to simmer things on the hobs as even when the gas is turned down to minimum pans boil too rapidly and cook things too quickly.

Top oven does not seem to be as hot as the lower oven, when supposably the same temperature, and therefore takes longer to cook. The knob needs to be held in once the grill has lit for quite a while and it is annoying, as to start with we were consistently releasing the knob too soon and had to repeat the process.

Same external measurements as my old oven but internal measurements much smaller, should be stated in sales blurb. Burners in inappropriate places, large one at front and small at back, if you're cooking with several saucepans you have to lean over big one to reach small one.Handles for oven doors stick out further than dimensions stated which caused problems when it was installed.

Two different sized ovens are economical to use and use less energy for small quantities of cooking. It's easy to clean, although the colour makes it harder to see dirt. Safety function on the glass lid is very useful, although I've not needed to use it so far!
-
Hob is badly designed. The 'grids' that support pots over the flame are shaped in a way that they only sit on the hob in one way, the corners are shaped only slightly differently from front to back and side to side, but the difference is so slight that it's hard to judge. The well they sit it is also very shallow. I had a nasty accident where a pot of boiling water slid into me when the 'grid' slipped as it had been put the wrong way around after cleaning.

The grill/top oven has a fan cooling system that is noisy and you have no way of turning it off. The cooker does it automatically when it has reached the cooled temperature. This is really annoying to listen to if you are eating at the table in your kitchen.
No light in the top oven so you have to open it to view food.
I am currently awaiting a repair visit as from purchase the main oven goes out repeatedly when both ovens are in use.
Both ovens are covered internally in a protective grease (or something?) on arrival and this is supposed to burn off if you leave them on for an hour when you first get the cooker. 2 months later it still smells nasty and of chemicals whenever I cook. Not great with two small children.

The 500 width model is quite small, so you can only fit a certain size baking tray. Also the shelves have a back plate attached so you cannot put one shelf directly under the other. When you put the tray under the grill the food rolls to the front as you have to slant it to get it under.

The shelves in the bottom oven aren't very deep so the average baking tray won't fit in it; I can't even put one of the round pizza trays in it. It takes forever to warm up and food takes ages to cook. The Belling people told me you have to put it on full blast for 10 minutes to warm it up properly before putting food in and that's just how ovens are but I had my last oven for 26 years and it always heated up straight away with no problems. If I could have my old oven back I'd take it in a flash! Oh and the bulb in the bottom oven went on the 3rd day of using it! Would not recommend this to any one!

Aesthetically the best looking 50cm gas cooker we could find for this price.
The gas knobs feel more substantial compared to others of the same price, small point but the others felt plasticey and like they could fall off at any time.
The double oven is very useful on a unit of this size.
-
Minor point about the control of the burners, I cannot get a very low flame from the largest burner so i have to light a smaller one and move the pan.

Nice simple oven, very good price. Easy to clean too.

Not so big - but its a 50cm oven, why would it be? Its a double so that makes up for it if you only have a small space.
