Zanussi ZWF12070 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ Smart appearance, good capacity, good features.

- Only uses cold water supply. Balancing feet not easy to adjust because you cannot fit the spanner in situ.

+ The 40 degree super quick wash cycle is the one we generally use. Some of the others seem overly long but this one is fine.

- Not all four feet are adjustable which was a bit of a faff when levelling up.
The filter is easily removable but, depending how you read the handbook, seems to screw the opposite way to the direction shown.
As is almost usual, the plastic screw fittings on the end of the water pipe aren't particularly reliable and we have had one leak at the top fixing - fortunately we saw this before it became an issue. It's hard to imagine there isn't a better fixing available.

+ Easy to use once you are use to it, like all new products it differs from what I had before. Short cold washes are very good on lightly soiled items. Hot washes for heavilly soiled items are not tolong however they do use qute a lot of electricity.

- No hot and cold fill. The manfaturers have conned us all in to beleving that this saves electricity. This may be so if you have hot water heated by electricity but mine is heated by an oil fired boiler and the increase in my use of electricity in the course of a month is not reflected in an equivelant saving in oil. Also the manfaturer saves money on costs with no hotfill pipe work valves etc but still charges the same price so more profit!!! The powers that be have conviced everyone that this measure will save the Planet from climate change, nothing could be father from the truth.

+ my last zanussi washing machine lasted 18 years with regret it broke the shop i have used all my married life did,nt have a zanussi in store but reccomended a bosch so i took it reluctantly it lasted 8 months it was replaced by another bosch it lasted 7 months they replaced it with a aeg lavamat which lasted14 months so my wife and i decided to buy a zanussi through tesco direct we are still waiting for the extra insurance extension to come through

Also handwash facility has been great to wash my 3 year olds dressing up clothes that always state'hand wash only'.

- water collects inside the door in the rubber seal. Have to make sure you dry it out and leave the door open so it doesnt smell and go mouldy.

+ Very quiet. Has the quick cycle for both normal 60 and 40 cotton cycle washes, but also the longer eco washes if you want. Loads of different programmes. 1200 spins really well.

- If you do the normal synthetic 40 wash you only get 900 rpm spin, so to spin separately at 1200 requires a bit more time. Seeing how long the wash has left would be great, but I've not had that luxury for past 19 years (with my previous Zanussi lasting all that time) so shouldn't really complain this time around!

+ This is the third Zanussi washing machine I have purchased due to being very pleased with the reliability of them. This one seems to be just as good as the previous models I have had. Having a choice of three different spin speeds and economy wash is great. The machine is more than adequate for my family.

- I would have liked the accompanying user leaflet to have been more informative as to how many minutes the different programs last. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the machine.

- Programme rotary switch old fashioned, and doesn't fit with general appearance of this machine. Sc rolling display would be better.

+ This really is an easy machine to operate in a busy family household. The wash delay program is an excellent feature as you can program the machine to switch on a pre-set wash program for early morning (say 5am) and hey! when you get up at 7.30am, the washing is all finished ready to hang out. Brilliant!

- Had underestimated how big it would be and it only just fits in the space where my integrated washer was. there were no dimensions specified on the product

+ Machine looks good and is very quiet. Dial is easy to use and the options such as different spin speed, delay start and quick wash are good.

- Like most machines the wash cycle times are so long! If they are meant to be eco friendly why are they all cold fill when you could make use of the residual heated water in your tank and if energy consumption is low isn't that negated by the longer wash cycles?
