Zanussi ZWF12070 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ Machine has a good selection of programmes and is easy to use.
Like the 'delay start' and 'night cycle' options.
It makes the expected level of noise when spinning but washing is very well spun at the end of the programme.

- Machine was very noisy on installation until we adjusted the support feet. Support feet could adjust more to enable accurate levelling of machine.

+ Easy to use and understand. Quite. Washes Well

- No Time remaning display. A full 6 KG load seems very tight in the drum however having said that it washes OK.

+ The machine is very quiet compared to my old one and is easy to use. Overall a very good machine and is working well so far!

- Would be better if you could tell where the machine is up to in the cycle esp. as it is cold fill only, so takes longer than a hot & cold fill. Would also prefer to be able to wash at 30 degrees on standard washes, not just delicates.

+ Good basic machine which seems to have a much larger drum than my old 1000 spin zanussi. Couldn't wear that one out which is why I bought another when it started to look tatty

- much better to look at the dial for selecting settings than trying to understand the book which we felt was not well explained

+ Appears to be good quality for the money. Lots of settings for a small loads.

- Seems to take a long time, but am not sure if this is not the norm these days. Can't see where you are in the programme so don't know when it's going to finish.

+ it is a brilliant machine with features that i use, other machines i have had, i never tried them as it was too complicated. This machine is so straight forward... brill

- It would be nice to see how long each program takes to run, also how long is lfet during a cycle, therefore you can wait a few mins etc to unload, if time known

+ I like the fact that the spin cycle is short, fairly noise free and does the job brilliantly.

- It was a nuisance to start with while it was first being used as the fabric softner tray would always be full of water after each cycle and it would stop during cycles by itself. I would have to restart it several times just to get through a 30 minute wash cycle. Sometimes it wouldn't even take the fabic softner. It also uses an awful lot of water even for shorter cycles.

+ Quieter than my previous (which was a hotpoint), clothes come out washed properly and smelling fresh. Easy to use and I like the programmes. I have had the zanussi 1200 for one month now and am happy with this product so far. It is good value for money and I would certainly recommend it.

- auto half load only available on ONE cycle, which is 90 degree cotton wash. totally pointless having a button for one cycle out of about 15.

+ This is a good looking machine with lots of options for wash cycles. Very easy to use. Some reviews mentioned the machine didn't indicate how long a cycle would last. I suggest timing it the first time and then you'll know. I use a 40 degree wash most often and this takes around an hour. The guy who fitted it said this brand is on his top 3 list of most reliable washers. I agree.

+ As of yet I have not found any difficulties. It is a quiet machine compared with my Philco that was 18 years old. There are more programms to come to terms with. It was easy to install.

- When cycles have finished there is still power to the machine in the way of the indicator lights indicating programme has finished. In these days of conserving energy this is not a good feature, my previous model which was 10 years old merely switched off!!!.

- you cant see where you are in the wash cycle, so you dont know how long you have left, you cant see the machine working through the wash, on my old machine the dial went round and you could tell how many rinses and spins you had left.

- It jumps aroubnd alot for a new machine. Not many useful low tempreature washes! Buy a hotpoing or bosch instead!

+ Neat and tidy looking, and easy to use (some models we looked at had too many bells and whistles!), a lot quieter than our old machine!

- Some issues with detergent residue being left on the washing once the wash has finished but nothing worth worrying about.

+ Lots of programmes and special options to choose from including sports wash cycles and delicate care cycles. Also, love the time delay feature and the rinse-hold feature meaning you can time it so your washing isn't sat in the machine for ages.

+ i like the delay start button, i can set it up at night then the washing is ready when i get up in the morning.The 40 degree wash is only an hour too.

+ Quiet - I can put it on at night to take advantage of the cheaper electricity offer that I have - we do not hear the noise. It cleans very effectively at low temperatures and a quick wash is just that - quick - and also clean.

- I haven't found any yet - except maybe that on the description on the machine it states that you can see which stage it has reached - well all that means is that the light shows whether it is on, washing or finished - it would have been of more use to be able to know where exactly it had got to.

+ I noticed straight away that my clothes were much cleaner than with the Indesit I had used before. The machine is good looking and easy to use. Although the spin speed is lower than some my clothes are just as dry as with the faster, previous machine. I looked on the internet for advice before purchasing and found Zanussi to be a good quality manufacturer.

- You cannot select slower spin speed for handwashed clothes.
It can be rather noisy and if you are after a quick wash this is not for you although there is a quick wash option. However the clothes are very clean.

+ Actual washing results are good. Buttons and dials easy to manipulate.

- Dispenser drawer is very stiff. Not good for someone with arthritic hands. Cycle times are appallingly long compared to my old Zanussi. No more doing a load and getting it hung out before work in the morning. I won't risk overnight use.

- didn't realise the economy cycles were going to take so long before buying it.
Have no way of knowing what stage through a cycle the wash is.
Zanussi has changed the construction of waste water pipe which caused installation problems - had to cut a huge hole in kitchen unit to fit it and it still doesn't go back as far as previous Zanussi model.

+ A good quality machine by a manufacturer I have had no problems with in the past - at a very good price

- A lot of the cycles take a lot longer than I thought they would for an A graded machine - and you don't know that until you rip open the plastic bag containing the manual. (Having said that, I don't know how these times compare to other manufacturers but I'm sure they are much longer than my old machine.

- I felt my previous Zanussi was more user friendly. I could just do a single rinse whereas with this one the machine does 3 rinses on the rinse cycle. I cannot tell how far along the cycle it is. I didn't realise when I purchased it that it was a cold fill only.
