+ Stylish design, great picture and brilliant upscaling, makes the best of recordings made on mini dv tapes transfered to disc.

- No bad points except for the apparent dropping of the format in favour of blue ray, I guess some corporate deals done by the Sony camp.

+ Very easy to use, set up was easy, all round a good player.

- slow booting up, and slow loading HD DVD discs, HD is no longer the publics choice, Blu-ray is the way forward, oh well lets hope they keep making HD DVD's for a while longer

+ Nice and easy navigational control system. Good picture which offers up to 1080P definition and good sound depending on your surround system. A Good all round cheap player that matches what you'd expect from higher end machines.

- Takes a while to load up when you turn it on, about 30 seconds, but that's to be expected from HD DVD as it acts more like a computer that a DVD player, and it's quicker that the HD-EP1 model. Doesn't let you resume play on HD DVD's when you temporarily stop playback, but again that could just be down to the nature of HD DVD's.
