It has a large hard drive, good processor and includes microsoft works. It is ideal for a student or anybody who wants it for entertainment purposes: watching dvd's, music, wireless internet etc.
-
The battery life, if you have the battery on 'balanced' is around two hours, which is ok but not ideal if you use it on the move.

We bought this laptop for our daughter to use for school work and for playing games. She has been able to do more than she thought she could and it is very easy to understand all instructions. The speed offered by the dual core processor is more than suitable for her needs. It is not one of those flimsy machines that you see around and is solidly built and that in itself instills confidence when buying it for a younger person, who, by the way, loves it and has persuaded two of her friends to buy the same one. The fan is quiet and causes no problems - all in all a good buy.

Value for money good processor easy connectivity with vista premium. Keyboard is fine, better than you would find on a ultra compact pc, screen is good size and seems responsive.
-
could do with additional gig of ram, although that's not difficult to do, could be better if you could upgrade the ram to a max of 4 gig. Could do with a built in web cam and card reader but then those are extras and you get what you pay for.

TOSHIBA L300-146 +MS is a very good laptob. It is ideal for moderate usage. It comes with an already system (WinVista) and with a bundle of Toshiba helpful software include multimedia support applications (Cd/DVD burning, etc) and a small application to make a recovery DVD to help as a back up for the system. This is good as in this case you will not need more than one disk in case you want to recover your system.

I needed a fairly basic laptop, but one which had Vista Home Premium. It had to be relatively cheap and I have had Toshiba laptops before, so a refurbished one seemed an obvious choice. The laptop looked and acted like new. Apart from very slight markings on the casing and that it was not in its original box, I could not tell that it was refurbished.

The product has a great deal of trouble booting up when first switched on. It has to be turned on & off several times before it works. Therefore it has become necessary to leave it on all the time.
