+ Setting up was quite easy and good, although I am still learning how to use the clicker. I havent found out yet how to stop and restart the dvd without it goin back to the begiining. I am sure there is a way. Particularly important for an old guy (90) who's wife, doesn't like the TV etc on when she appears in the room.
Loading a DVD or campact disc is really simple and fool proof. I always had Problems loadiny a compact disc into a "Getto blaster" which someone bought for us years ago. I have a computer and use DVD's in this but it is not in a suitable place or environment to play an a DVD as entertainment.It is 1st class through the 26 Toshiba TV.

- None so far, But why is the integrated system of DVD for TVs only available up to 26"and not on the bigger LCD screens offered today

+ Very good sound (compared to my Sony Bravia!), very easy to install exc.
Excellent either as a main or a 2nd TV.

- Can't find the code to programme my sky remote to the tv. Shame it isn't a DVD recorder built in!

+ In My experience I have found Toshiba products excellent in all aspects compared to Sony for eg which in my opinnion are over priced. My last Toshiba TV I purchased in 1984 (I have given it to a friend)and it still works

- controls on end of case seem awkward to get at
do not like the face that i have to use 2 handset controls to control the satalite and digital channels and the auto set up has left a poor picture when using the sky + recording. I amgoig to try to get an engineer to tune the whole system for me.

Screen size is measured diagonally from corner to corner.
Type of Screen	LCD
Most small flatscreen TVs have LCD screens. Some larger TVs have plasma screens. Some very new TVs have LED screens. Traditional TVs are called Standard or CRT.
HD TV	HD Ready
‘HD Ready’ is a Europe-wide standard designed to made HD technology less confusing. HD Ready TVs must have • Minimum vertical resolution of 750 pixels (in widescreen format) • Ability to display 720p and 1080i formats • An HDMI or Digital Video Interface (DVI interface) Full HD is a higher standard. Full HD TVs have screen resolutions of 1080p and can output at least 24 frames per second. Full HD is becoming common, but you won’t see Full HD on normal TV channels for a long time, so it remains optional for many people.
Freeview or Freesat Tuner	Freeview
Freeview is free digital terrestrial TV. FreeSat is a free digital satellite TV service, which gives you HD programming from people like the BBC without having to pay for a subscription to a service like Sky. Built-in Disc Player	DVD Player
Some products come with built-in DVD players or Blu Ray players.

It is quoted as a ratio, between the brightest white and the darkest black. 500:1 means the brightest white is 500 times more bright than the darkest black. Plasma screens have historically boasted better contrast ratios than LCD screens.

This is a ratio of the horizontal to the vertical size of the screen. 16:9 is standard widescreen format for TVs, replacing the older 4:3 format.
Freeview	Yes
