+ within 48 hours of purchase I used tom tom to guide me round france and spain as far as la manga which it did perfectly.

- would be better with a coily spingy lead
as the wire some times got in the way
but this is a minor point

+ love the size wish it cud be lighter 4 my handbag but small enough to fit in. has helped enormously with my navigation and is excellent in giving prior directions.

- i find it a little differcult when i want to turn it on got to keep tapping the screen.i was also not at all happy that i received free safety camera alerts which ive never had.

+ To arrive in Granada Spain and be led to the car park recommended by our hotel was fantastic - and then to escape the city stress free -say no more!!

- Wants you to go a very long way round sometimes when there is bad weather and poor satellite contact ie,Bristol to Bournemouth via Oxford??

+ Compact and accurate both in UK and Europe.
Very good user interface.
The free speed camera and traffic trial was a nice touch but you need to subscribe after four weeks.
Value for money was excellent considering the functionality offered, including full UK Post Code search.
Overall I would buy it again but the PC interfacing issue was and lack of helpdesk number was VERY irritating.

- Software did not load on my computer (still does not); I had to use my sons PC to update. No helpline number in the UK or detailed manual. Has only a limited connectivity to mobile phones limiting functionality.
Not case as standard or protective cover for venerable touch screen, therefore not sure how long it will last!
No mains charger as standard but will charge off a USB plug

+ There are none, I am on my second tom tom now and this has had to be returned to manufacturer for yet another replacement.

+ The product is reasonably easy to use and in an adequate design and size.

- The product automatically doesn't select the shortest or quickest route and also doesn't avoid traffic routes. It's best to use when you don't know the shortcuts.

+ Excellent navigation, with the auto corection if a wrong turn or the route is closed/unavailable means no stopping to work out a new route with a map. Tom Tom does it all.Speed camera warning is an excellent safety feature.

- It doesn't always update on live traffic and reroute when there is a problem, even when it is set up correctly and on constant monitoring and selected auto update
