+ Good clear directions. Even gives the road number which is more info than previous model. I like the clear lane directions which ensures you position your vehicle in plenty of time.

- Screen mount is not the best and could be afforded more development.

- maps are not fully uptodate and i'm not refering to new developments i mean developments that have been built over 30 yeatrs ago

- Not the easiest to navigate around the menu system and not all online updates appear to register onto the TomTom. The screen suction mount is not as easy to use as my previous Navman.

+ It's very easy to use without reference to an instruction manual and it does the job of directing you very well. It's useful to be able to set up itineraries or routes in advance. The motorway lane guidance and route selection according to traffic volumes at different times are both very helpful.

- sometimes the hands free phone bluetooth lets you down but dont let this put you off

+ Clear to look at, traffic camera warnings are good. Also it reminds you of the speed limit on (most) roads and shows your speed which acts as a good reminder. It's easy to add new destinations and gives you pre-stored destinations (eg locations of petrol stations and cashpoints) which is useful if you are travelling in an area you don't know well.

- It can be difficult to press the right area on the touchscreen if you are moving (eg as a passenger), but I guess that would apply to all satnav and not just this one.

- a stylus would help for people with larger fingers

- Its not loud enough to hear people on the phone when useing the bluetooth option. Ive not tried marrying it up through the car speakers via an FM radio channel yet?

+ Very accurate and quicker than old version of Tomtom, time to destination accurate with IQ routes.

- Did not think the lane guidance feature was anything useful as only shown on certain motorways (so 530 no different to 520)

+ excellent product easy to use actually knows were its going ,i have used this in france found it to be just as good there

- mounting bracket is really bad am currently looking to buy another one as i am fed up with it falling

- UPDATES SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR 1 YEAR FROM DATE OF PURCHASE AS SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A P.C DURING THE SHORT PERIOD THAT IS ALLOCATED FOR UPDATES. OTHERWISE EXCELLENT SAT NAV.
